If you need to send cremated remains to Memorial Flight for an upcoming flight,
the U.S. Postal Service provides a free Cremated Remains Kit specifically designed for this purpose.
The kit includes one Priority Mail Express Cremated Remains box and one roll of Priority Mail Express tape.

The kit is free from the U.S. Postal Service. You only pay for the postage when you mail the cremated remains.

Please wait until your Memorial Flight is scheduled before mailing the cremated remains.

Do not mail cremated remains to Memorial Flight until you have completed your service arrangements with us and received instructions from Memorial Flight.

When You Are Ready to Send the Remains

  1. Use the USPS Cremated Remains Kit.
  2. Ship the package using Priority Mail Express.
  3. Keep your USPS tracking number.
  4. Request Signature Required so delivery can be confirmed.
  5. Send the tracking information to Memorial Flight so we can monitor the shipment.
  6. We will confirm with you when the cremated remains have been received.
